All I ask is that you consider who gets harmed by exclusions. It’s most often the most marginalized, despite the best of intentions.
As a trans woman who dates men now and women before transition, I am quite literally a straight queer. In fact I’ve had trans lesbians tell me that I am not queer and don’t belong in queer spaces. Also putting the requirement that trans people must be “in the process of starting transition” is gross and ignores the very real oppression that closeted trans people experience. You were attracted to women before you actually dated one, no one handed you a queer card on your first date with a lady.
All I ask is that you consider who gets harmed by exclusions. It’s most often the most marginalized, despite the best of intentions.
